Group B Streptococcus (GBS)

Last trimester Tests:

1. Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) - to check for Gestational Diabetes during pregnancy
2. Group B Streptococcus (GBS) - to check for vaginal infection 

My gynae said I don't have to go through GTT since the urine test (done every visit via the indicator on the urine test strip) is negative. As for GBS, it is compulsory so that baby is protected from getting infected when getting out of the vagina. 

For 1st and 2nd Trimester,

 
1st Trimester Tests:

1. Routine Blood Test - to check for your blood group, Rhesus(Rh)factor, iron level, Hepatitis B status, Red/White blood cells, glucose level, HIV/STDscreen, urinalysis etc
2. OSCAR Test - to check for fetal anomalies, in particular Down Syndrome

2nd Trimester Tests:

1. Detailed Ultrasound Scan - to check for any anomaly by measuring the fetal's body parts - head, brain, skin, neck, spine, chest, blood vessels, intestines, kidneys, bladder, skeleton, heart beat, weight, length etc.
