"shy-shy" plant

..............that is MIMOSA ! cos like yx, the plant is so shy that it always close up whenever people touch it. oohh... touch-me-not! lol. yx loves mimosa and we make a point to pass by the spot where mimosa flourishes around the coconut tree. She is amused by the reaction of the mimosa while her bro is not too keen ...haaa. Recently, we kindda stop the habit of searching for mimosa as the novelty worn off. Let's see if she remembers if we pass by the spot without reminding her......

Muffin Gal and Boy

Last week doing Chocolate Chips muffins:

This week doing blue berry muffins:

Thanks to Betty Crocker Muffin Mixes, else I would probably have a harder time. Anyway, baking muffins not only act as a time-filler and quick distraction technique but also introduce concepts of baking like how and why the mix rises and temperature that goes beyond 100 degrees celsius. Actually, the interest and idea is sparked off from the "Have you seen the Muffin Man?" song that she saw in the video.

Not sure whether she really listens but she was quite intrigued when she saw the mix rise...haha..something magical for her. Her waiting-in-anticipation look amuses me. It's a pity little bro missed out the action as that was done during his nap time (and that's the reason why she needs to be distracted....haa..)

blue car

She uses her fav colour again - blue. =\

Bubber

This is a good alternative to the dough (which was disastrous, but we had good fun!) that we make, so she is having fun making the alphabet mould. I am glad that she is still not tired of bubber after so many months. Keeping it away from her eyes do help! =)

yr playing with the screws

yr loves screws, or anything that turns. like pinwheel, steering wheels, bottle caps, lotion caps. He really wants to explore how it works which makes him look so cute. LOL

Singapore Teochew Festival 2014

I am a Teochew and I don't really know the Teochew customs that well although those that I saw in the festival do ring a bell especially the wedding customs cos I followed it quite closely. haa... Watching the Teochew Opera brings back some nostalgic moments as I remembered grandma loves listening to them too.
I think I am more fluent in Cantonese than Teochew thanks to TVB drama serials when I was watching them at my maternal grandma's house during my growing up years.

I really hope yx could pick up some phrases if not all, but then again, she is a Hokkien muahhaa.... Anyhow, knowing some dialects would be good else we really become a jiak gang dang society. I wonder what dialect group will yx's future husband be? hmm....

Octoburst 2014 @ Esplanade

After lunching at Poulet (Raffles City Shopping Centre),

we head to Esplanande for an "Octo-good-time"!

Does the first picture looks like snowflake to you? Anyway, that's my creation =)
The 2nd one with palms ...well it's pretty obvious who's the creator. hee...

yeay! I got my palms printed on my book!

at courtyard green - aMaze Me!

It was quite hot so yx just stood beside me and watch other children in the maze.

Goodbye Octoburst2014 !

Does it look like bones to you? According to her, they are like dog bones.
But to me they look more like weights. LOL.
