Tummy time while sleeping

Please don't disturb me. I'm feeling VERY comfy like this.
For the past few days, she has been flipping onto her tummy in her sleep. As usual, she kicked and swept away everything except her thumb. When I flipped her to sleep on her back, she 不甘愿. What to do? .__.

Upside down !

Peekaboo! I see you - upside down !
Recently, she likes to turn 360 degrees and then mess up her cushion, pillow and "accessories". She gets really excited to see us in an upside down position every morning. We need to get ready for some actions real soon.

Super Tired After Jab (2)

After 5-in-1 2nd dose
She is always sleepy after jab cos the timing is always her nap timing. Like her first jab (last month), she just let out an uncomfortable cry and then gradually settle down and doze off.

However, she was quite cranky when we got home. My guess is she was super tired and that she was frustrated that she couldn't stay in the same position to sleep, ie suck thumb & turn towards her right !! Her next jab 6-in-1 (incorporate with Hepatitis B 3rd dose) + Pneumococcal 2nd dose will be in June, so hopefully she sailed through it and doesn't have any mood swing. =|

Teething !!!

Lower teeth: 3 teeth erupting
Since early March, she has been moody on and off and her milk intake gets inconsistent. Then we finally realised ok, teething time !

Symptoms of teething (also from my own experience):

  1. excessive drooling
  2. moody, not as alert and energetic as before
  3. doesn't sleep as soundly as before during nap
  4. poo gets sticky, greenish mustard yellow
  5. milk intake slows down (almost by half sometimes), lost of appetite
  6. keeps using her fingers to rub her gums (look like she is sucking but actually she is trying to relieve the irritation)
  7. discomfort cries in between feeds /before sleeping (very often in the evenings)

Currently, she has 7 teeth erupting:

Lower teeth
-1 molar
-1 canine
-1 premolar

Upper teeth

-1 molar
-1 incisor
-1 canine
-1 premolar

The above crying photo reminds me of anime crying - except without the obvious tears:

I think I also want to do that when yx does that to me. @__@

Plagiocephaly (flat-head) & Torticollis (stiff neck)

Sleeping on her left with all her "accessories"
Following this rant, we decided to force her to sleep like this with immediate effect. We also quickly made appointment to see a physiotherapist based on a recommendation by another experienced mummy who went through the same heartache as us.

Her head shape as at 29 March 2012:

Moderate Plagiocephaly: Top View
One can observe that her ears are misaligned from the top view. Hub said that this misalignment is better than before (in Jan) but I am still worried. Her assessment score was 12/24 which to me is NOT good (the lower the better). We have been doing the exercises mentioned to us before and it seems that we have to increase the frequency and intensity, especially on neck/head rotation !! EVERYTHING MUST be on HER LEFT now.

To encourage her further, I also demonstrate it is fun to exercise her neck and do head rotation by singing and dancing in front of her via the Chinese healthy song by Mavis Fan (范 晓 萱). Of course I did some impromptu lyrics revision by emphasizing the neck portions which I think is more relevant to her.

Looking at her progress now, I think it is more difficult for her to do her neck exercise as she screams whenever we try to tilt her head away from her shoulder. We have to think of all ways to coax her to get into action. I hate it when she ignore me sometimes when I speak to her on her left but when I speak to her on her right, she turn her head occasionally to look at me. =(

I am beginning to regret why I didn't allow her (due to health risks) to be place in baby swing/hammock  (摇篮) Maybe that would relieve the flat head problem but not stiff neck.

Sigh, take away the self-blaming now and just gotta do our best. Hopefully, by 1 year old, she will grow out of it.
