I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten,
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

I have been singing this song to yx to sleep since she was about 5 months old when I suddenly ran out of slow and soothing songs (besides lullaby) to coax her to sleep. So every almost night, I have been humming and singing this song before lullaby to her to prepare her for sleeping. She actually loves this song cos I heard her humming to herself before she sleeps just now!

Let's hope she can sing this song to me when we really have a chance to spend a white Christmas together. =]

Pressies 2012

Thanks Ling for the pressies.
We didn't have any pressie exchange or preparing any celebration. Just that Ling dropped by our place (to help me do some "bo-liao" stuff - thanks!) and she kindly gave yx a pressie. One month+ ago yx received a "Shopping" book about some common fruits and vegetables with a pull-out tab that shows their colours. yx was so intrigued by the change of colours just by pulling the tab that she kept flipping the book and asking me to pull the tabs for her. Now she starts pulling herself and becomes part of her "self-entertainment" - at least for now.

I will wait till Xmas to let her open the second gift herself. She will be happily tearing the wrapping paper up for sure. =}

I am helping mummy to vacuum the floor!

Let me try......
See, I can handle!

Ok, let me pose for you. =)
One more time, I am holding on to it !

I wonder if yx were to be so enthusiastic in doing household chores when she grows up, then I don't need a part-time cleaner >,< ......

Strolling

Woah ... so many nice flowers to see

Reasons for Vomitting II

Other that this, I also experience these:

  1. Anmum mama milk still taste the best. But must drink just 1/3 to 1/2 a cup at most.
  2. Cheese is ok, just depends on the time of the day. Quite erratic.
  3. Safi Orange Herbal toothpaste works for me now, but only can squeeze up to 1/3 of the toothbrush. (Thanks to my colleague for recommendation.)
  4. Phlegm !! I don't know why every time after eating sure got lots of it, not to mention after eating fruits. I wonder is it because I don't drink much water nowadays, but I didn't drink that much either for number 1 too and I didn't have such effect!! I feel like having one container to spit out phlegm (at home is ok, can do it any time in toliet, but in office ???!!! feel like an old woman!!!) Then when I can't cough out the phlegm successfully, then....
  5. Coughing out phlegm and burping at the same time.
  6. Chilli. only green cut chilli without the seeds is acceptable.
  7. Anything thing overly sweet.
  8. Sitting down after a really full meal.

The more we get together

I was experimenting with singing songs to yx in a gradually getting faster manner and she seems to be very amused by it. I nearly got tongue-tied towards the end of the song. She was laughing like crazy previously; I quickly sang the song again and took a video (er, a bit shaky). I didn't know such simple acts will get her to laugh like that. heheheheheheh ..........

So happy!

heheheh
Say Cheese !

  1. Subway Tuna Sandwiches (with mustard sauce!)

  3. Potato chips
  4. Cheese Fries
  5. Chicken biscuits

  7. Sushi (egg, beancurd & dip in the sauce which I don't used to do)

Happy 1st Birthday yx!

Dress parade 1.1: I love the ribbon!
The hair band was previously a gift from me to my nieces and now it has passed down to yx. And it look pretty good on her. Nice!

Dress Parade 1.2: Hi-5! I am now 1 year old!
Yes, she could stand, wave, dance, do Hi-5...but all within short seconds, then she will ponk! on the floor.

Dress Parade 2: I don't like the shoes! So ugly! Take out!
Actually I prefer the 1st dress but as this dress is given by my mother, and according to the Chinese traditions, yx is supposed to wear dress and shoes given to her by 婆婆. Guess what, the 1st dress is only $7 while the 2nd is $19.90 from kiddy palace! I seriously think there are lot more variety in the markets for kids wear than kp, unless you want something really proper that is suitable for wedding, or any grand functions.

Surprisingly, she hate wearing shoes (ok is open-toe sandals). I still don't know why. Maybe the texture? the feeling of wearing is funny? too big (mum bought size 18 when maybe 16 just fits)? not used to it? finds them ugly? urgh. nevermind. Will bring her someday to try out shoes on her own and see her reaction.

my mother-in-law & yx.
Happy 1st birthday!
Have a fruitful life ahead, yx!
ha...this is so unglam, some Taiwan Hokkien Drama on Starhub cable is playing on the background, while all of us are busy singing birthday song and taking photos.

Happy 1st birthday, my dear gal! May you have a fruitful life ahead!

Why I do not want a C-sect again

As the saying goes, "once a c-sect, always a c-sect". I don't think I want to subscribe to this. Then again, I am also weighing the other risk factors.
  1. Recovery period is longer as compared to natural delivery
  2. Bad experience with c-sect and I didn't want to get cut up again
  3. 3rd Child? (ok, this is just in case. I know I wanna "close factory" after my 2nd cos er, I don't wanna give birth after 35 ;(  But, who knows for sure until later? Urgh. Maybe I am just giving myself a third reason to justify a VBAC. Anyhow, it is also a legitimate reason. If I can do a VBAC for number 2, why wait till number 3 due to even higher risks?)
Factors against me having a VBAC:
  1. Previous history of infection
  2. Duration of only 1.5 years between the first and second child
  3. Condition of CPD unknown*
  4. Risk of Uterus Rupture (so induction is definitely a no-no for VBAC, contractions has to come naturally)
  5. Baby's health is at stake
* Whether my pelvis is too narrow as mentioned by my previous gynae is questionable:
  • It is also likely that the baby is in a Occiput Posterior - or also known commonly as OP position, given that the baby's head is said to be at pelvic station approx -2, ie not fully engaged few days before induction and delivery at the estimated due date (week 40)
  • Baby is at 2.75 kg at birth, so the size is not huge.
Thus, after a thorough discussion with Dr Paul Tseng, I have decided to confirm him as my gynae for my number 2.

Decision to be made later after the following is confirmed around week 36-37:
  1. Position of the baby
  2. Size/Weight of baby
  3. Width of Uterine Scar Tissue
  4. Position of Placenta
Damn, I feel as if I can be a gynae cos I know all of the above facts (haha, but too bad, I am just not cut out to be a doc given my mediocre grades) except that I need his professional advice, judgement and experience to figure out whether I am good candidate for VBAC. The most important thing is his willingness to support, and his experience in VBAC. He is also very frank by saying that he has seen "successful cases but also casualties too."

I know one might ask,"why don't just go elective c-sect? Why take all these trouble?" since you:
  1. can choose the date (whatever auspicious date/time you want, but of course subject to availability of your gynae)
  2. can also have your third child (if you still want) by c-sect too
  3. don't have to go through labour pain, just cut, take baby out. Very fast, no sweat!
  4. don't have to suffer another round of infection (choy!) by going for emergency c-sect if after TOL (Trial of Labour) and you still can't make it.
  5. already gone through c-sect before, why have another "hole" down under (since there is a risk for urinary incontinence via natural delivery)? might as well continue with c-sect.

So, let's wait till week 36/37.

Pink Dress

hmm.... how do I look? pretty?

My mum bought her a pink dress for her coming birthday, so we tried it on her but she doesn't seem to like it. She was fussing and fidgeting while wearing - I think it's due to the tulle. In the end, I decided that we should exchange it for a sleeveless cotton dress. Urgh ..... I still love this pink dress on yx.

Sleeping Poses

11 Nov 2012: hmm ... 左拥右抱 so comfy.

25 Nov 2012: in dreamland... lalala
Just love the way she looks when sleeping. cos I also feel like sleeping when I see her. ha.
